Start here

The front page is the single entry point for everyone using the Competency Hub. It separates candidate access from user sign-in, and shows signed-in users a set of dashboards and tools matching their role.

What you see on this page

The page is built from a grid of cards. The cards you see depend on whether you are signed in and what your account is allowed to do.

Always visible

  • Start or resume assessment — for candidates. Enter the access code issued at registration, or paste the full access link. The code is tied to your registration and cannot be shared with anyone else.

When you are not signed in

  • Sign in — opens the user sign-in page. Use this if you are an admin, content author, content reviewer, invigilator, or marker.

When you are signed in

The remaining cards appear under section labels (Dashboards, Content, Operations, System). Each card you see matches a permission on your account.

  • Operations dashboard — live summary of sessions, candidates in progress, marking queue, and recent security events. Shown to organisation managers.
  • Invigilator dashboard — opens the secured dashboard for monitoring a live session. Shown to invigilators.
  • Marking dashboard — queue summary and the list of scripts waiting to be marked. Shown to markers.
  • Psychometrics — calibration status, open review flags, and retirement recommendations. Shown to people governing psychometric quality.
  • Content tools — manage question banks, assessment templates, and the question inventory across approval stages. Shown to content authors, content reviewers, and admins.
  • Register candidate — opens a registration form for the session you choose from the dropdown. Open sessions are listed first; the form issues an access code for the new candidate.
  • Manage sessions — prepare assessments, import candidates, and move a session through its stages.
  • Users — manage user accounts, roles, and organisation access within your scope. Only shown if your account is allowed to manage users.
  • Audit events — read-only log of security and operational events across all sessions.
  • Health checks — operational diagnostics for storage, security, the database, and the application.

Common tasks

As a candidate

  1. Find the Start or resume assessment card.
  2. Paste your access code or the access link into the field.
  3. Select Enter assessment.

If the code is not recognised, check that you have copied it exactly. Spaces around the code are fine — they are trimmed automatically.

As a user

  1. If you are not signed in, select User sign in and return here after signing in.
  2. Choose the card that matches what you want to do.
  3. The cards are grouped under Dashboards, Content, Operations, and System so you can scan to the right area quickly.

Notes

  • The session dropdown on the Register candidate card lists open sessions first so the default selection is usually the right one. You can still pick scheduled, draft, closed, or archived sessions if needed.
  • Candidate access and user sign-in are deliberately kept apart. A candidate access code will not let you into signed-in tools, and user credentials will not start an assessment.
